The All About Downtown Street Fair is the perfect way of ending Summer and kicking off Fall here in Jersey City. The event takes place this Saturday, September 17, from 11 am to 6 pm and will run along Newark Avenue between Grove Street and Coles Street.
New for this year the fair is taking over additional surrounding streets, including Newark Avenue between Jersey Ave. and Coles St., Jersey Avenue between Newark and Columbus Ave. and 1st Street between Jersey Ave. and Coles St.
The annual event is organized by Rachel Sieg and her amazing team at the Historic Downtown Special Improvement District (HDSID), a public-private partnership through which property owners and business owners have a direct impact on Historic Downtown Jersey City neighborhoods and their development.
More than 40,000 people are expected to attend this year’s 6th annual event and will feature more than 300 vendors including: food and drinks, artists, vintage threads, furniture, handmade goods, nonprofit organizations, and local businesses. The kids area, on Jersey Avenue close to the intersection of Christopher Columbus Ave., will feature children’s vendors and food, face painting, bounce house, ferris wheel, additional rides, and children’s programming will be going on through out the day. If you have never been, expect a fun filled day surrounded by friends and neighbors!
Jersey City Independent will also have a booth at the fair (and is proud to be a returning sponsor). We will be at space #230 on Newark Ave., between Jersey Ave. and Coles St. Come by and say, “Hello!” Plus pick up a copy of the JCI magazine Fall issue, and learn about becoming a contributor, Sustaining Member, Sustaining Partner, or an Advertiser.
