On Saturday, August 6 from 12 -7 pm, Jersey City’s oldest service organization, the Rotary Club of Jersey City, will be hosting a much anticipated Food Truck Festival with live music, entertainment for families, and a beer garden at Exchange Place. (Full list of participating food trucks below.)

The Rotary Club in Jersey City was chartered on August 1, 1916. Nearly 100 years old on the day of the festival, the organization is an invitation-only club comprised of local professionals, leaders in business, and retirees whose goals primarily include providing services to the community and spreading goodwill.

“For the second year in a row, we provided coats to families in need. Last year we provided 100 coats to children. This year we partnered with the Heavenly Temple Church and provided 400 coats, plus accessories- hats, scarves and gloves to families in need,” says Jennifer Aiken, President-elect and Public Relations Committee Chair.

In fact, says Aiken, “Proceeds from the Food Truck Festival will continue to fund existing service projects such as scholarship opportunities for Jersey City high school students going to college, and the annual ‘Warm Coat Project’ while continuing to support and partner with other local non profits.

“There will be several bands performing along with a performance by New City Kids. We have a variety of vendors and community partners participating and we will also have a raffle with prizes donated by various businesses and community partners,” Aiken continues.

Additional musical performers include The University Academy Charter High School Band, Drum and a Tantrum, Jake Tavill, Penniless Loafers, The Intensity, ProSteel, Band of Brothers, Mission Beyond Music, Kool Katz Band, Uprise Shadow, Grove Acoustics, The Devyl Nellys, Li’Nards Many Moods and Angel Ram.
