Artists have until Tuesday, September 1st to register to exhibit in the 2015 Jersey City Art & Studio Tour (JCAST), the city’s biggest annual arts event, now celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Slated for Saturday, October 3rd and Sunday, October 4th, the self-guided tour will showcase film, dance, visual art, textiles, installations, music, and more. Over 600 artists will participate in venues ranging from galleries, private studios and pop-up spaces to local businesses to public spaces. Many will be exhibiting for the first time; artwork will be on display in every one of the city’s six wards.
“Although the deadline to submit applications is tomorrow,” explains Jennifer Morrill, spokeswoman for the city, “we still encourage all interested artists to apply as our cultural affairs staff members are on standby to answer questions and offer technical assistance to those who may need it.”
Inclusion on the official print map requires registration by 11:59 PM on September 1. (The registration form can be found here.) The Office of Cultural Affairs will be accepting artist and venue applications until October 2 for inclusion on the mobile app and the JCAST website at JCAST.com.
